Diet tea/laxatives remains one of the most popular methods people turn to for weight loss. It comes in different forms such as tablets, but most popularly come as dieter's tea, but they almost have the same ingredients in them. They appear to be very attractive for those who want to lose weight, but I think we should all know the details about laxatives…

How Diet Tea works

Diet tea increase bowel movement. Most people tend to think that the tea helps to remove toxins from the body. The tea is usually made up of herbs which have laxatives in them. They increase bowel movement and so people who do not want their calories to be absorbed take this laxatives. The laxatives increase the bowel movement, thus not allowing the large intestine to absorb food where most of the food content gets absorbed. Also when laxatives are taken for a long time, they affect the absorption of fats in the body, causing diarrhoea and subsequently, weight loss.

Side Effects of Laxatives

The above mechanism seems so nice and attractive, but how about the side effects?

· Laxatives cause PERMANENT DAMAGE to the gastrointestinal tract.

· Osteomalacia

· Nausea

· Stomach cramps

· Diarrhoea

· Dehydration

· Electrolyte imbalance

The best method to weight loss still remains diet and exercise!!!!
